Friday Fascinations: 5 Must Have Beauty Products

Look, we all know I am no beauty blogger!  But hey, guess what?  I was recently selected as a Top 30 Most Interesting Running Blog.  Yeah, I think they might have made a mistake too.  You can read the article here.

That said, I am telling you about my 5 MUST HAVE, cannot live without products I use on a daily basis.  I was not sent any of them for free.  They are completely purchased by me for cash money and I will continue buying them because I love them!

1.  Coola SPF 50 Sport Sunscreen in Fresh Mango

Okay, I started with this one because May is Skin Cancer Awareness month and second, because mangos are my favorite fruit and this one smells EXACTLY like a fresh mango.  It is not greasy or heavy and it is perfect on the skin.  I wear it on my face!  It is not cheap and retails at $32.  But there are codes out there.  You can get it at DermaStore for 20% off with code memorial.

2.  Native Deodorant (any scent)

I recently made the switch to Native deodorant because I was done with using heavy chemical and artificial ingredient laden deodorant.  And when my daughter is ready to wear deodorant, I want her to wear an all natural one like Native because of breast cancer in my husband's side of the family.  Ingredients like coconut oil and shea butter sound a heck of a lot better to me then paragons and aluminum.

3.  Trader Joe's Coconut Body Butter

You all know how much I love my Trader Joe's.  Well, this is hands down my favorite Trader Joe's product.  It smells amazing and leaves your skin silky soft after a shower.  I keep saying I want to do a giveaway of my favorite TJ products and this would be at the top of my list!

4.  Trader Joe's Tea Tree Spa Face Wash

Another product I use every single day.  My face feels tingly and clean once I use this product.  Be careful though - DON'T get it in your eyes!  Danger!  I feel like it gets all the impurities out and it is pretty awesome!

5.  LOMA Shampoo & Conditioner

My hairdresser told me about this product after I complained about my dry thick hair for the 87 millionth time!  It smells fantastic and leaves your hair feeling soft.  It isn't very expensive and I order mine from Amazon.  A giant bottle is only $23!  I order everything from Amazon!  Haha!  Or Trader Joe's!

As always, I am linking up with MarCourtney and Cynthia - AKA the DC Trifecta, Nicole for Fit & Fashionable Friday and Jill for Fitness, Health & Happiness Link-Up!

So tell me about your must have and can't live without beauty product!  Have you ever tried one of the above?

As always, I wish you Happy Feet,
SD Mom

Happy Thursday!  Where has the week gone?  It is almost time for that crazy #Fontana2SD thing I am doing two weekends from now.  Catch up on all the social chat about it here.  But first things first!  I want to tell you all about the Santa Cruz Organic Agua Fresca juices and give you a chance to win some too!

What is Agua Fresca?  They are a combination of fruits, cereals, flowers, or seeds blended with sugar and water to make light non-alcoholic beverages. They are popular in Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean, and the United States.  Well, these juices are made with the same core ingredients such as organic fruit juice, sugar, and a hint of lemon juice.

They are super refreshing and lightly sweetened and only 60 calories a serving.

They are non-GMO and gluten free and come in 3 flavors: Mango Passion Fruit, Grapefruit and Pomegranate.  A 32 oz bottle retails for $3.20-$3.49 depending on where you buy it.

I have always loved their mango lemonade and hadn't yet tried the Agua Fresca line up and I am pleased to tell you I love these too.  Not too sweet and perfect as a mixer!  (Heard from a friend HAHA)

And my kids are loving their applesauce too.  All organic with the perfect amount of sweetness.  With the summer coming, it is a great way to get their hydration in!

I am giving away two bottles of the Agua Fresca to one lucky winner!  All you have to do is comment below with which flavor sounds the best to you!

Try Out Thursdays: Running in the Dark and @RunLites Gloves Review!

I am one of those super weird people that loves to wake up early, before the sun comes up, before the rest of the world wakes up and go for a run!  And even better, I like to do this with other crazy mother runners who like to go run as well!

I have been meeting with the beautiful Angela and Cindy at 5:00 a.m. for a trail run before the work day.  They are so awesome and I have been loving their company.  But the problem is it is so dark.  And trails are dark!

But today, I had the RunLites Gloves!  I was able to take this picture in the pitch dark with just the light of my gloves and no flash!

I was recently sent these RunLites Gloves to review!  I took them on a trail run this week and OMG!  Life changed!

What a difference?!  Here are the highlights of these gloves:

·         Lightweight and compact design, fitted with a hands-free safety light
·         Two brightness settings that can project 80 lumens of light up to 15 feet
·         6-12 hours of USB re-chargeable battery life
·         Palm pocket for storage of IDs, keys, money, or music unit
·         Reflective strip for added safety
·         Unisex models in a range of colors offered in half-length dry-wick fabric ($34.99) and full-length polar fleece ($39.99) (mine are half-length Medium and they fit like a glove - BWAHAHAHAHA!)

We were able to see everything with these gloves!  Because there were two gloves, they cast a wide circle of light in front of us.  The other girls didn't even need their usual head lights and iPhone flashlights!  Game changer!

Here is a little video on how it works!

Mary Tiffin, President and CEO of RunLites, invented and patented the gloves because as a runner and working mother of three, she could only find time to exercise at night and was frustrated by the inefficiency of flashlights and headlamps.  I feel her pain.  My time to work out is 5:00 a.m.  Still dark!  Here is their Twitter page.

And now I would like you to check out the Try Out Thursdays Link Up!
