Yelp Art and a Bulu Box reveal & GIVEAWAY!

Do you guys use Yelp?  I do!  It has become synonymous for me with "Googling."  For example, "Where is a good bakery around here?"  "I don't know...let me Yelp it!"  What you all may not know is that I am a Yelp Elite, which is fancy for does lots of reviews.  Every once in a while, I get to go to special events such as grand openings etc.  You can read my reviews here.  Or you can apply to be an Elite here.

The last Event we went to I was allowed to bring a plus 1 and so of course I chose SD Dad!

The event was held at Distinction Gallery in Escondido, CA.

We were treated to an Alice in Wonderland type of experience with every door opening up to a different artist (live creating) and an array of nibbles and libations.  First, the "Art!"

Next up, the food.  The espresso gelato from EscoGelato was AMZING and creamy!  I highly recommend it!

I was beyond excited to see that my favorite special occasion restaurant, Vintana would be there.  They had delicious chicken fajita cups and I took a picture with the chef.  Because I am a food nerd!

Friday Fascinations - 6/27

Every Friday, I bring you a collection of things that have caught my attention this week.  Most likely it is gear because #imayhavearunninggearaddiction but it could be D or S!

1.  My very favorite thing is that my little baby graduated from preschool!  S will be a transitional kindergartner in 2 very short months.  Argh!  It should be illegal to make caps and gowns this cute right?!

2.  This skirt made by Belinda at Running Behind, LLC.  She has a million prints and the skirts have a super sweet ruffle on the back.  It doesn't have anything underneath so you would have to wear it with shorts, briefs or capris but think of the versatility.  You can check out her Facebook page here.  You can get your own here but a little birdie told me I would be having a GIVEAWAY of a skirt soon!

My Long Run routine and a Hydration GIVEAWAY!

Do you know what a Flat Runner is?  It is when you lay out your outfit for a race and take a picture so others can spot you at the race or run.  Well, for me, a Flat Runner is a part of every long run.  I lay out my outfits the night before.  And I mean everything from my Headsweats visor to my Crazy Compression socks to my Running Skirt.

I like to be prepared...so much so that I prep all my nutrition needs for the race the night before too.

Clockwise: Nuun Lemon Lime (for during the run), Vega Energizer (prepped for 20 minutes before), Vega Recovery Accelerator (for after the run), Banana (duh!), Clif Shot Bloks (for during) and a Luna Bar (1/2 a bar before).

Funny story about my Nuun prep.  I play Russian Roulette with my 15 flavors and I reach in blindly to the shelf where they are stored and grab one at random.  And that is the game.  No matter what flavor I get, I have to use.  Luckily, all of the flavors are awesome.  (Except citrus fruits...blech!)

Turns out I am not the only one who loves Nuun!  A lot of you do and a lot of famous athletes do too!

This is Kara Goucher and we both drink Nuun!  We have so much in common!  Ha ha!  I am such a huge fan!  I have the same bottle.  I tend to get a little star struck with these speedy fast runners in case you haven't noticed.
