Check In: NY Resolutions and Premier Protein Bananas & Cream Announcement!

Remember when I told you my New Years Goals involved spending more time with my family?  Well, I want to report monthly with how I am doing with that!

But before I get to that, I want to tell you about the re-launch of the Premier Protein flavor - back by popular demand Bananas & Cream.

And how lucky that I saw it was on sale at Costco this week???  (may not be on sale anymore when you read this!  But it is still a great deal!)

You have to admit - that is a smoking' deal!  18 packs for just $19.99.  Better believe that SD Dad and I stocked up!

I have been having a blast spending time with my favorite two little people!  We did a 5K together - sharing what I love with the people I love.  I have been making my time with them count.  We went to Disneyland!  And of course, Premier Protein went along...perfect snack for a mom on the go!

I took D to a race expo!  And we took the cheesy bib pictures!  (speaking of which, I recommend the Hip Hop Run!  Best music ever!)

I have been managing to spend some time with myself for myself too!  The Premier Protein ready to drink definitely comes in handy on those along solo runs when I get HANGRY!

So, is the bananas and cream flavor any good?  umm...yeah!  Why do you think it is being reintroduced?  It definitely has a banana flavor but not too much and it is VERY sweet!

SD Dad has been using the drinks after his extra hard bike rides too!
Features:
  • 30 Grams of Protein
  • 1 Gram of Sugar
  • 3 Grams of Fat
  • 24 Vitamins and Minerals

So, tell me!  Have you stuck to your New Year's Resolutions?  I am so happy I have because family time is the greatest reward!

#SDRW: SAN DIEGO RESTAURANT WEEK PREVIEW - HARLEY GRAY MISSION HILLS

Have you heard?  San Diego Restaurant Week is back and this time they are partnering up with the Girls Scouts!  Over a 180 restaurants participating and SD Dad and I got to try the SDRW menu at Mission Hill's own - Harley Gray!  (Please excuse the horrible pictures.  While the lighting was good for ambiance, it was terrible for pictures!)

From January 15 - 22nd, you can head to any of the participating restaurants and experience the best of what they have to offer for a set price.  $20, $30 or $40.  We were pumped to be paired up with local and super close by Harley Gray.  Their standard for RW is $20 with a couple of items that can be uncharged $5-10.  Lunch during SDRW is only $10!!!! What????

So, it was pouring when we headed out to try it!  But the warm welcome quickly made us forget.  We had an awesome server in Michael!  He had drinks to us ASAP!  SD Dad and I both had the Stone Ripper, San Diego Pale Ale ($8 / pint) as our choices,  If you haven't tried it yet, please do!  It is YUM!

We each started out with an appetizer.  SD Dad got the ceviche.

I had the interesting combo of watermelon, blue cheese and spring greens.  Delish!

For the main, SD Dad had the lick worthy Mahi Mahi in coconut curry sauce.

I had the perfectly coked blackened rib eye ($10 up charge) with the not over powering at all gorgonzola butter.  Served with asparagus and delicious mashed potatoes.

I have to say I was disappointed in their gluten free options for dinner.  My husband had the chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwich but I was left to have plain vanilla ice cream with whipped cream and chocolate sauce.

I heard that last year they had a macaroon ice cream sandwich which WAS gluten free. I wish they still had that!

All in all, we had EXCELLENT service with Michael and the ambiance is super good.

Wish drinks were a bit cheaper but they do have an awesome Happy Hour and Brunch on the weekends.

So if you are looking for a new SDRW option, check out Harley Gray!

For lunch, I want to try their Asian Chicken Salad.  And next time I do dinner there, I am trying the Porter Braised Short Ribs!  So good right?!

So where are you headed to for SDRW?  What is next on your list?  Tried Harley Gray yet?

As always, I wish you Happy Feet,
SD Mom

Happy New Year, Goals for 2017 and a Premier Protein Review!

Happy New Year my friends and Family!  We had a few friends over yesterday and we did the ball drop for the littles at 6:00 p.m.  Big partiers right?

I know the blog post title is GOALS and not goal but I really have only one goal for the 2017 year - SPEND MORE TIME WITH FAMILY!

The kids are getting older and unlike what I imagined when they were babies, they actually need me more than ever!  Drive them to sporting events, sleepovers, Scout meetings, help with homework, do crafts...the list goes on.  And I want to spend more time doing those things.  But I am also going to keep doing things that make me happy - like RUN!

But something has to give.  And in this case, nutrition.  But all is not lost...say hello to Premier Protein.

Protein, protein, protein. We love protein because it is essential for a healthy and active life. But getting enough protein is hard, especially protein that doesn’t come with too many calories or too much fat. AND especially when you are on the go go go with your kids!  That’s why Premier Protein makes delicious, essential healthy protein that curbs hunger and fuels your energy for whatever you love to do.

I want more hikes, more swim meets, more parties, more sing alongs, more game nights, more movies and most of all, more cuddling!  Who has time to waste with eating a whole meal?  Thanks to Premier Protein and their new line of organic Ready to Drink shakes, I won't have to!  I won't have to miss out on any good moments with my babies!

I can just grab a shake and keep going!  And the flavors...so good!  You know I like vanilla best!

The nutritional facts are pretty great too!

  • 25g of organic protein, containing all nine essential amino acids
  • 150 calories and 5g of sugar
  • No artificial sweeteners, colors, or flavors
  • High-quality whey and milk protein sources (No soy)
So, thank you Premier Protein for helping me stick to my 2017 goals!  Which flavor will you try?
