Planning your Running - @journalMENU Review and #GIVEAWAY

Disclaimer: I received one journal from journalMENU for review & GIVEAWAY purposes.  I was not requested to write a positive review.  All opinions are my own and I have received no monetary compensation for this post.  In fact, I liked them so much, I bought 3 more with my own $$!

A while back, Erica from journalMENU approached me about doing a review and Giveaway. I was not sure about the journal or what I would use it for.  Then I signed up for the Phoenix Marathon and I knew I needed something to keep my stuff and planning together.  Somehow, a paper journal is so much easier than an electronic version.

My favorite part about Erica's process is that I got to design the entire thing.  Cover graphic to colors to the layout of the inside pages.

I knew I wanted it to be about running and I told Erica everything I wanted to track including the weather, whether I ran with music, solo etc.  I also wanted a way to countdown days to my next race.

When she sent me a draft of the layout she designed for me, I got so excited and bought some for my training partners too!

So now, I am giving you a chance to win your own custom journal.  The winner will get a chance to work with Erica and create your own Journal!  She has lots of designs if you aren't sure.  Like this one.

Or this one.

You can buy your own here.  She has awesome options!

How to WIN:
1.  Comment below with what your journal would look like.  What features would you include?  What sport do you want to track?
2.  Get an additional entry for tweeting about the Giveaway.  Make sure to tag @RunningwithSD and @journalMENU for it to count.  Leave me a comment below saying you did each time.  You can tweet up to 3 times for 3 separate entries.
3.  Get an additional entry for sharing the Giveaway on your FB page.  Either tag RunningwithSDMom or leave me the link below in a comment to your post.  Again, you can enter this way up to 3 times but be sure to leave me a comment each time.
4.  Get an additional entry for Instagramming the Giveaway image.  Be sure to tag @RunningwithSD and leave me your Instagram handle (must be public profile).  Again, you can do this up to 3 times but you must leave me a comment below saying you did each time.

Each separate entry = separate comment.  You can get up to 10 entries!  Here is the GIVEAWAY Image for Instagram and Facebook!

  2. Wow, this is great. I've always loved to journal my workouts, diet, supplementation & progress the "old school" way, with a pen & paper. It really gives me a true sense of accomplishment & pride when I see where I've been and how far I've come in my own handwriting. That's so cool you can design it yourself, too! I'm not sure if it could be done, but I'd like to have myself on the cover for inspiration (no, I'm not full of myself lol, I'm thinking maybe a past picture when I was at my fittest to motivate me to get there again). Or perhaps some sort of weight training theme, like a pic of a gym or dumbbells with a motivational quote included. I'd use mine for strength training, as I'm SO not a runner. My favorite outdoor exercise is swimming. Loooove to swim!

    1. FitNut!! We totally can put you on the cover - I even make "clip art" graphics from photos if you feel like a regular photo feels too much :) AND we have CrossFit journals!

  15. I love that it's customizable! :D! I'd want to focus on lifting weights. I like the one with the barbell (or an inspirational quote!) on it, and would probably throw in the vinyl pocket, plus extra pages for new poses/tricks I learned for dance! :]

  22. I'd like the spring colors combined with the runner. I'd use it to track my running: time, pace, fuel used during and after, and distance plus cross training workouts.

  23. What a creative and unique idea! I would design a journal to give to my son for his 10th birthday. He is my inspiration. His Christmas gift wish was that I would train with him to run in the next 5K race this year (he took first place in his first run). I was terrified because I have been his cheerleader and let myself get out of shape. I accepted the challenge and we are running together four times per week. I would love a journal that he and I could use together to see our progress on this journey!
