#SnackTimewithSDMom - Yoplait GREEK 100 Whips! and other ideas!

I love snacks.  I LOVE snacks!  Seriously...with Marathon training, I want to EAT ALL THE FOOD ALL THE TIME!  I am a little scary in fact.  But along with great hunger comes great responsibility! If I am going to eat all the food, I better make it good.  Solid whole foods with a balance of good carbs and good protein to get me thru Marathon training.

I have done the raw almonds.  The seaweed.  The oranges.  The berries.  The energy bars.  I wanted something different that would deliver all the things I am looking for in a snack.  Tasty.  Protein.  Convenient.  So when I heard about Yoplait Greek 100 Whips!, I had to try it.

I headed to the closest store to me that carried the Whips!  Ralphs had a special 4 yogurts for $5.  Not too shabby!  The list showed that they had amazing flavors including Vanilla Cupcake, Strawberry Cheesecake, Lemon Meringue and Raspberry.  However, Ralphs only had cherry, blueberry and strawberry.  Cannot WAIT to try the Vanilla Cupcake.  How good does that sound?  As SOON as I got home, I had to try it.  I started with the strawberry.

Just look at that mousse like texture!  And it is a greek yogurt with 9 grams of protein.  This was the perfect treat at 8:30 p.m. after the kids went to bed.  And I placed a lone chocolate chip in the yogurt so it felt like dessert.  It is like a tangy strawberry mousse.

Then I thought "let's up the protein factor and add hemp hearts."  Great idea because the hemp hearts added a little something to the flavor and balanced out the sweetness.

It is almost a complete meal now.  With 100 calories but 9 grams of protein, this Greek yogurt is a nutrition powerhouse!  I have a coupon to share with you all for Whips! too.  You can download it here.

The very best part of eating Whips! as a snack?  It tastes like dessert.  But has protein.  And is low in calories.  Kind of awesome.  There are a ton of recipe ideas here too!  Which of these recipes will you make?  Can't wait to get creative with little S this weekend!

This doesn't mean I am going to stop eating the almonds, cashews, berries, seaweed etc.  But is so great to be able to throw something high protein like the Greek 100 Whips! into the mix!  And it doesn't hurt that it tastes like dessert.

So go check it out.  Tell me which flavor you would want to try!  I think the Vanilla Cupcake is screaming my name.

Thank you to Yoplait for sponsoring today’s post and inspiring me to try Yoplait Greek 100 Whips!!

As always, I wish you Happy Feet,
SD Mom

  1. Ohhh, these look awesome. And I love the fact that they are greek yogurt. I just discovered Chobani mint and dark chocolate greek yogurt. It's a smaller container than the normal individual size, so perfect for a little after dinner dessert without all of the guilt!

  2. I've been eating the Yoplait 100 greek yogurts for a while now and they are my favorite brand of yogurt. I haven't tried the whips yet. The cupcake flavor or the strawberry would be my choice. Nice review!

  3. I am a big fan of anything strawberry cheesecake, so that would have to be the first one I tried. They look delicious! I am in the same eat all of the food boat as you with training so I may just have to give these a try!

  4. I've had whipped yogurt but didn't really enjoy it....just didn't seem like it had enough substance. Lemon Meringue, Strawberry, Strawberry Cheesecake, Tropical, and Vanilla Cupcake are flavors I'd enjoy.

    1. I hear that but I think the extra protein in this one helps with the sustenance.

  5. When I discovered Yoplait whips I thought they really needed to do that with Greek yogurt. I found the whipped Greek yogurt a couple weeks ago and almost flipped out in the store. They need more flavors but I'm enjoying a few of them.

I'm with you, I think the vanilla cupcake flavor sounds the best! Usually vanilla is my favorite, but I can see how vanilla cupcake would be a step above!

  7. Greek yogurt is one of my favorite snacks too! I love adding something crunchy, but I hadn't thought of hemp. Can't wait to try it!

  10. That's such a good idea to add hemp hearts to yogurt! I would have never thought about doing that. I have been adding chia seeds lately, but I'll have to change it up with this!

  12. Okay Smitha, thanks for the details on the Whips. I have the regular and greek, but not this. It looks really good, so they must make their way to my shopping basket next trip to the market. :)

  13. Yes! I totally love these. It's amazing how decadent these yogurts are while still being pretty darn healthy. I had no idea they made a vanilla cupcake flavor though so now I am going to have to get myself over the store to track that one down :)

  16. I definitely want to try the vanilla cupcake! I like the texture of the whip kind so much better than the regular yogurt! Maybe it is the fluffiness, not sure! Great review I will be looking for it at the store.

  24. How funny! I just bought these today! They sounded so good. I can't wait to dive into one for breakfast. Our store only had black cherry and strawberry. The vanilla and the lemon sound amazing. I can't wait to try them!

  25. Sometimes you just need to change things up a bit. I'm not someone who needs sweets all the time, but once in a while I need something sweet. I'm pretty boring though when it comes to yogurt I only eat berry flavors. These look really good I love the idea of them being whipped.

  28. Yoplait is actually my favorite yogurt. I haven't tried the greek ones yet, but I totally plan on it. Seriously, I have like one of these at least 4 times a week:)
    Great review!!
I have to try the Vanilla Cupcakes that sounds YUM! My only weird quirk with yogurt is I like to dip my Thin Wheats in yogurt, I count it as a meal when I do it. Weird, but delicious! LOL

    1. Are Thin Wheats the same as Wheat Thins? ;-)

  29. The new whips sounds absolutely delicious! And I love that its Greek yogurt, not regular yogurt. So many of the dessert and snack flavored yogurts aren't Greek.

  30. I love your post! I had not heard of hemp hearts before? I've always loved the texture and flavor of Yoplait Whips. I've tried ALL the new greek flavors, Lol! All of them were actually pretty good, but I enjoyed blueberry and vanilla cupcake most! Although I think the fresh blackberries with lemon meringue was my favorite combo. :)

  31. The cupcake sounds good! Just curious, what's the sugar content look like on these products? Sometimes yogurts pack a surprising amount of it.

  32. Some nice ideas in there. I love their regular greek yogurts. I hadn't noticed they had whipped varieties though.

  33. This does sound like a powerhouse food with the added hemp hearts! I need to try this. I hadn't thought of adding hemp hearts.

  34. I go back and forth on Greek yogurt, but I've never tried one of these. If I had to choose a flavor it would be strawberry cheesecake, well, because it has cheesecake!

  35. I'm in love with this stuff. I've never actually had hemp hearts though, so no idea if I'd like them in it or not...

  36. MMMMMMMmmmmmmm those sound absolutely amazing! I love Greek yogurt and I love mousse- that's a combination we can indulge in without guilt! Now I'm tempted to send hubby to the store!

  39. I love that you put one lone chocolate chip in your yogurt lol. That's totally something I would do. The vanilla cupcake flavor sounds amazing. I don't eat many processed foods or flavored yogurts but I'm tempted to try that one!! You have me intrigued.
