Welcome to Day 7 of 11 Days of Giving! Thank you so much to Nuttzo but most of all, thank you for you! What a great end to the year giving away 11 of my very favorites!
I am so freaking excited to tell you about Day 7's GIVEAWAY for Nuttzo. Here is how it all went down. As you know, I am a Nuttzo Ambassador which means I get to put my mouth where my mouth is so to speak and eat Nuttzo all the time! With a spoon, on a banana or in a smoothie. You get the idea!
So when they put the call out to their Ambassadors and asked us to come up with some fun holiday recipes, I volunteered to try my hand at making a Nuttzo Egg Nog. Say what?! This is from someone who has never even attempted to make egg nog before.
I started with these basic egg nog ingredients.
I would like to add that I would ordinarily make the entire recipe organic but I wasn't sure how my attempts at recipe creation would turn out so I went the inexpensive route. And of course, I enlisted S, my very favorite helper. It is her little hands you see in the pictures.
Nutty Nog (adapted from Alton Brown - The Food Network)
*This recipe contains raw eggs. If you MUST make a cooked version, you can adapt this one.
Ingredients
2 cups whole milk
1 cup heavy cream
1 tsp nutmeg
4 eggs (separated into whites and yolks)
1/4 cup Nuttzo (any flavor)
1/3 cup granulated sugar, plus 1 TBS
OPTIONAL: 3 ounces bourbon
1. Start by separating your yolks from your whites.
2. Place the yolks into the bowl of a stand mixer or just a large bowl.
3. Beat until the yolks become a pale yellow with the mixer or a hand mixer. Slowly add in 1/3 cup sugar while beating.
4. Measure out 1/4 cup Nuttzo.
5. Add in.
6. Whisk together
7. Add in 1 tsp nutmeg.
8. Mix in 2 cups whole milk and 1 cup heavy cream.
9. Set Aside. In a new bowl, pour in the egg whites.
10. Whisk until the whites form soft peaks. Add in the 1 TBS sugar at this time.
11. Keep whisking until stiff peaks form. (I know...I giggled too)
12. Gently fold in the egg white mixture into the egg yolk mixture and gently whisk to combine.
13. Until combined.
14. Pour into glasses, garnish with a cinnamon stick and serve.
I am really quite proud of myself and let me tell you, this stuff is DIVINE! Not by any means "diet" food but so good. I made it with the chunky Nuttzo because I wanted little bites of nutty goodness all thru my drink. But you could certainly make it with smooth Nuttzo too! Or even Peruvian dark chocolate Nuttzo. Hmm...
The generous folks over at Nuttzo are letting me GIVEAWAY 2 jars of the winner's choosing so that you can try out your own fun recipes or just eat it with a banana. And remember, even if you don't win, you can use code runningwithsdmom-15 for 15% off at Nuttzo.

Definitely the Creamy and the Chocolate! Never thought to put nut better in egg nog....
ReplyDeleteThe seven nut and seed butter original smooth would be my pick since I haven't had the opportunity to try Nutzo before.
ReplyDeleteI would most like to try the Crunchy 7 Seed Nut Butter! I'd never made egg nog before and don't really care for it either. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI'd choose the Original Crunchy variety. My dad made egg nog a lot when I was growing up, he never added any nut butters that I know of but it sounds excellent!
ReplyDeleteI have been dying to try these, I would love to try the dark chocolate one!
ReplyDeleteI would try the creamy...I love smooth PB!
ReplyDeleteoriginal crunchy would be my choice i think!
ReplyDeleteYOU ARE NUTTZO
ReplyDeleteBirds of a Feather...
DeleteI would choose the regular crunchy variety! I have never tried egg nog but don't think I would like it!
ReplyDeleteI'm not a nog person, but I could see how Nuttzo would improve it. The peruvian dark smooth I think would be the one I'd first want to try. I prefer smooth for many things, like sandwiches, crackers, celery, a spoon... though the chunky can work well for other things when you're making with it.
ReplyDeleteI would pick the Creamy and the Chocolate. I have never made Egg Nog, but I am going to attempt to next week.
ReplyDeleteI've heard so many good things about Nuttzo; I'd love to try it! I'd pick the Power Fuel Smooth with Chia and Peruvian Dark Chocolate Smooth. YUM! I usually enjoy a glass or two of egg nog, but I've never tried to make it myself. I may have to give that a try! Thanks for the recipe and the great giveaways!
ReplyDeleteI'd never even heard of Nuttzo until I read this post, so that you for sharing it with me. I'm a HUGE nut butter fan (there are three jars of Wild Friends in my pantry). I love the idea of the nut butter with the many kinds of seeds in it (crunchy, yum!). I'd also like to try the one with chia, and the one with the dark chocolate. So many choices! I'll have to go check and see if my fancy grocery store has it.
ReplyDeleteI have never made egg nog but now I kinda want to (maybe using coconut milk?) with your recipe! I love the addition of the Nuttzo!
ReplyDeleteI would like to try the Crunchy 7 Seed Nut Butter!
ReplyDeleteI'd get the crunchy 7 seed nut butter. I like crunchy peanut butters.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to have a spoon (or 10) of the Crunchy 7 Seed Nut Butter.
ReplyDeleteI think I'd go with the chocolate ;)
ReplyDeleteI've never tried Nuttzo, but would probably go with chocolate.
ReplyDelete& seed and chocolate..yeah buddy
ReplyDeleteI would like to try the Seed Nut Butter. I have not made egg nog before but have tasted store bought one. I wouldn't say I liked it or hated.
ReplyDeletedark chocolate and I have never tried it before
ReplyDeleteI've tried one flavor-should try another....
ReplyDeleteDark chocolate, yum! We love egg nog here and buy it way too often.
ReplyDeleteChocolate!! And no I have never made egg nog, but my brother in law has made it many times.
ReplyDeleteI have not tried.. but the Power Fuel crunchy w/Chia sounds good. I have never made eggnog either but there is a first time for everything.
ReplyDelete7 Seed nut butter for me and not an egg nog fan.
ReplyDeleteGeorgiana
I would love to try either the dark chocolate or the peanut-free crunchy. Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteI've not tried any of these nut butters and I'd love to.
ReplyDeletePower Fuel Crunchy with Chia! <3 I've never tried making eggnog before, but you make it seem less intimidating than I've been imagining the process to be! :O
ReplyDeleteI'd love to try the power fuel crunchy with chia!
ReplyDeleteThere's chocolate Nutzo? I'd love to try that! But not the egg nog, sorry. ;-)
ReplyDeleteThe Dark Chocolate!
ReplyDeleteDark Chocolate

ReplyDeleteI do not like eggnog :P
Yum...I'm always looking for new ideas for Egg Nog.
ReplyDeleteChocolate. If it'a an option, I always choose chocolate;-)
ReplyDeleteI'm not a big egg nog fan. I'll put a little in coffee as cream during the holidays but that's about it.
Original Crunchy sounds great!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to try the creamy ones! Nuttzo looks delish! :D
ReplyDeleteI'd love to try the dark chocolate. I've never made egg nog before.
