LEGOland California: #TheLEGOMovie4D Premiere - Everything IS Awesome!

Disclaimer: I am a LEGOland Insider and have the opportunity to be invited to events for LEGOland.  All opinions are my own.

Recently, I got accepted into the LEGOland Insider program...kind of like a LEGOland Blogger.  I am super lucky because my son is into Legos and LEGOland is so close.  It is the perfect partnership for me!

Now open at LEGOLAND California Resort, “The LEGO® Movie™ 4D A New Adventure” had its California premiere on February 5, 2016.  And I was invited!  And I brought D and his bestie, T.

We walked the red carpet and got to indulge in some pre-movie snacking - even healthy options that no one chose.

D chose Red Vines and pop corn and T chose Whoppers (who eats those?) and pop corn.  I stuck with popcorn and coffee.

Okay fine...I got some Air Heads too!

We headed inside the theater with our loot and donned our 4D glasses.  (Why is it 4D?  We will get to that in a second!)

They had Emmett and Wyldstyle start the show.

With surprise guests Benny and UniKitty too!

Can we just talk about how much I love UniKitty?

And it was time for the show!  The movie was really awesome.  It lasts about 15 minutes and introduces elements for all 5 of your senses.  This is where the 4D aspect comes in.  When they spray lemon water, you feel it.  When they shoot a cannon, you smell and see the smoke.  My favorite part was the new character - Risky Business, brother of President Business!  He is hilariously menacing or menacingly hilarious.  Either way - he was good at being bad!

They even provided us with seat cushions for the bleacher style seating!

Then we had the chance to ask film Executive Producer Jill Wilfert from LEGO® and Producer Joshua Wexler from Pure Imagination Studios, questions about The LEGO Movie™ 4D A New Adventure.

There were some great questions but the best of all was the very last question, from T.  His question was, "Out of all the creations you have made so far, which one is your favorite?"  Josh's answer was the best too.   He said, "My next one!"  Jill's favorite character is UniKitty (see?  we should be besties!) and Josh's is Emmett.

The challenge was how to follow a blockbuster film that charmed fans all over the globe with a critically acclaimed mix of humor, heart, action and adventure.  And they nailed it!  In 15 minutes, they bring the audience a taste of what the LEGO spirit is all about!

Will you be near a LEGOland soon?  Do you have a fan of the LEGO Movie in your home?  If so, go check it out!

As always, I wish you Happy Feet,
SD Mom
