Weekly Wrap: T-6 days to the LA Marathon

Holy Moly Cow!  LA is 6 days AWAY!  And it is supposed to be 80 degrees at the finish line.  I know, you folks in the midwest are yelling, "Cry me a river!"  But that is HOT!  NOT what I have been training in!

BUT training has been going well.

Monday: 5 miles with Jenny

Wednesday: 4 miles with Alexis

Thursday: 4 miles on the Treadmill

Saturday: 12 trail miles with Vanessa

In non-running related news, we spectated at D's basketball game.

Then it was time for some Mother Son Bowling for D's school.

And Super Bowl 50 at Coach Jenn's house!

The fact that I am holding a Panther's sign is completely random.  In my heart, I wanted Peyton to have a sweet send off into retirement and boy did he get one!  I have been a fan for a long time...even when he first took over the Colts.  So congrats Peyton!

I am again linking up with the Weekly Wrap hosted by HoHo Runs and MissSippiPiddlin.

And also linking up with the newly engaged Megan!  Head over and wish her all the best!  It happened at the finish line of SurfCity USA Half Marathon.  Romantic right?

And now, it is time to hydrate hydrate hydrate to prepare for the dry heat this weekend!  What advice do you have for me?  How to stay cool for the LA Marathon?

As always, I wish you Happy Feet,
SD Mom

  9. I'm not saying cry me a river because it was 80 degrees at the finish of last fall's Chicago marathon. That was tough. I was happy to finish!

  12. Yeah, 80 is warm! Here in the south, we'd be worried about the humidity that would go along with that for a double whammy. You training has been great and you'll have a wonderful race. Good luck and enjoy! Thanks for linking with us SD.

  13. Dang 80 degrees, it is warm but you've done so well with your training I know you will do fine. I was pulling for the Broncos too because of Peyton. I'm from Mississippi and the manning blood runs deep here, so I was tickled to death they pulled away with the win and also after the panthers QB threw a hissy fit! Priceless! Thanks Smitha for linking up have a super race!

  14. Yay, so excited for you and the marathon. Make sure to hydrate with electrolytes all week, not just water!! That is what got me at MCM last year. I hydrated but with water only during the week before!! Learn from my mistakes :)
