#ThursdayTriumph - #NavyBridgeRun, Running in a Dress & @SofiBellaLife #GIVEAWAY

Welcome to Week 3 of the Thursday Triumph posts with me, Linzie and Carlee!  These are so much fun.  Did you read the intro post?  You can read it and get caught up HERE!  Please share your triumphs with us as we share ours with you!

So this week, I have all sorts of things to tell you.  I ran the Navy Bridge Run the second year in a row.  You can read about last year's experience here.  Over 10,000 people take to the iconic Coronado Bridge for this awesome 4 mile race.  I HIGHLY recommend it!

I ran this one with my sweet friend Tara who put up with my sickly slow pace.  Sinus Infection + Race = SLOW!

We hung out with some mariachis!

Some Navy folk!

Best of all, we hung out with our fellow awesome Moms Run this Town San Diego members.

The race is an elevation change of only 210 feet but it feels like a lot more.  That bridge is steep!

Thanks to our friend Chris (pictured below) we got to hang out in the VIP Hospitality tent just like last year and enjoy some coffee and fresh fruit after the race.

I even finally connected with pretty Liberty in real life!

There is such a fun atmosphere at the finish line of this race.  Music, vendors, balloons, party!  Did I already say I highly recommend this one?  Run it with me next year!  I will try to avoid this dreaded sinus infection!  There is even a fun steel drum band entertaining you as you wait in line for the shuttle to take you back to the mainland!

When we made it back downtown, we spotted a Dunkin Donuts!  My first time so we had to stop!

And take a picture of our coffee...

So where is the Triumph, Smitha?  The Triumph comes from me trying something new.  I usually run races in a skirt or in capris.  This time, I ran in a dress.  Sofibella sent me this dress to review.

I won't lie.  I was excited and anxious at the same time.  What if I don't like the dress?  What if it rode up?  What if it showed all the parts that I usually hide under a baggy tank or a skirt?  But when I tried it on, I LOVED it!  It was so cute!

PROS of Running in a Dress:
-  Don't have to worry about the top and bottom matching
-  Don't have to worry about your top riding up
-  You look like you are ready to head to brunch, a tennis match or a run.  Keep 'em guessing!

Somethings I didn't like:
-  If you have a bigger chest, you still have to wear a sports bra underneath.
-  You have to wear some kind of shorts underneath.  Nothing attached.
-  Your race bib has to attach to your dress and makes holes.
-  The dress tends to highlight bulges and curves that a print would hide.

So will I ever run in a dress again?  OBVIOUSLY YES!  I think the 4 mile distance was perfect.  And the dress itself was so comfortable.  Breathable fabric, UV protection and anti-bacterial.  I felt VERY girly!  In order to spread the message about Sofibella and their colors and their styles, I have this visor (an exact replica of the one I wore for the race) to GIVEAWAY!

A little about the Brand.  They started out as a tennis wear company and have slowly expanded into running gear.  They are 100% Made in the USA too!

  7. So, I have never run in a dress; I certainly wouldn't be opposed to it, though! I love their Athletic Tunic; it comes in so many different colors/patters and it looks like it would be really comfy. Thanks so much for sharing the linkup with me, Smitha!
