Restaurant Review: BiCE San Diego & Girls Night Out!

I have the best runner friends a girl could ask for. These women have transcended runner friend status and made it to best friend status. And so, we want to spend time together. Time beyond the trails and the roads. Time just being girl friends.

So when I was given  the opportunity to review BiCE San Diego, I knew who I would share that time with. Jenn and Vanessa and a much needed girls night out!

We needed to start right away with cocktails. Because BiCE has good ones.

The cucumber was refreshing.

The drinks were gorgeous.

And inventive like this Spicy Passionfruit Margarita.

Can't go wrong with their drink list!

The trio of tartare was amazing and the delicious round things you see are saffron rice cakes. I could have eaten a meal on these alone but the salmon with the giant caper berries was the star. Also watered Ahi and Sea Bass.

They even offer a gluten free basket of bread!

The first dish was the house made lasagna that Vanessa ordered. She loved it!  There was a mixture of ground veal included to add to the succulence of this dish.

Jenn ordered the Rib Eye special which came with mashed potatoes in a brandy pink peppercorn sauce.

She said while the meat was a little fatty, it was extremely flavorful and delicious in every bite!

I ordered the veal scaloppine. Over leek polenta and kale sprouts. Kale sprouts were ohenomenal. A light char adding to a roasted flavor. The polenta was in a lemon proseco sauce. Picture that in your head. Yes. It was that good. And the veal itself was tender and cooked perfectly!

Yes, I ordered another cocktail. This time the star was a smoked tequila and beautiful edible flowers. Love their drinks!

Oh and Jenn topped off too with a pear ginger martini. See?  So inventive!

And finally, dessert. We got the mango pan a cotta and the pistachio lava cake. Both were excellent and both were must try's.

The lava cake doesn't photograph the best but it was delicious and gluten free!

And the pan a cotta was killer!  Soft. Creamy and subtle. Just the way it should be!

I highly recommend BiCE for your next girls night out!  We used an uber to and from the restaurant. Made for a carefree night out!

BiCE is located at 425 Island Ave, San Diego 92101 (Gaslamp area). I was provided meals and drinks by BiCE but all opinions are my own and I was not compensated in any other way!

Have you been on a girls night out lately?  What is your favorite place to have a GNO?

As always, I wish you Happy Feet,
SD Mom
