Saturday: Jenny V. at Movin Shoes
Monday: Runch with Jenny N.
Wednesday: Runch with Jenny N. and Jenn S.
Thursday: Solo on the Treadmill
Saturday: 10 miles with my Jenn G.
Weird right?!
During my run with Jenn on Saturday, I celebrated 3 years of running. 3 years ago Saturday, I first loaded the Couch to 5K app on my phone and started "running." In the last 36 months, I have run 14 Half Marathons, 3 Marathons and a handful of 5Ks, 10Ks, 5 milers and 10 mile races. I have met some amazing people and have seen the exponential growth of groups like Moms Run This Town.
And of course, We Run Social!
Running has brought me my best friends and my friends who are like family. Running has brought me people I have never met in real life who I would do just about anything for. Running has changed my life for the better and I am so thankful!
Running has brought me so many wonderful opportunities and has given my kids a chance to see that an awesome mom is a running working mom! Speaking of kids, D won a super cool trophy for his Pinewood Derby car in Scouts!
Adorable right? And we had a great service on Easter morning.
And we actually paid our kid to let us cut his hair. I know I know. Freedom of expression and all but JEEPERS! He looks so handsome!
And finally, I am linking up with the Weekly Wrap hosted by HoHo Runs and MissSippiPiddlin and also with Megan! For the first time ever, I am also linking up with #MotivateMe Monday, hosted by Run Mommy Run, Fitness Cheerleader and Running Rachel.
So tell me about your week. Did you celebrate Easter? Have you ever paid your kid to let you cut his hair? How were your runs this week? How long have you been running?
As always, I wish you Happy Feet,
SD Mom
Happy Runiversary!
ReplyDeleteThank you my friend! I owe quite a few miles to you too!
DeleteHappy Easter.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful family.
Wow you are surrounded by Jenns! All good peeps I am sure ; )
My husband cuts my son's hair...that is all he knows. Actually we all current our own hair in the house.

We have never had D's hair cut by a professional after his first one ever. My husband has always done it too.
DeleteI have not paid my kids to cut their hair but I do recall quite a bit of begging in the past....maybe some bribery thrown in there also. LOL
ReplyDeleteWhy? It is sad because I think they look so clean and handsome! :-)
DeleteWow - a great week of running, way to go!! I am striving to get back to running more often, it's truly my happy place but I have fallen away from it lately and have been only doing two runs/week. My running love affair is going on 16 years. Thanks for linking up and have a great week!!
ReplyDelete16 years??? I have a ways to go to catch up with you!
DeleteRunning is awesome! I've made some incredible friends and I love that it's something my Mom and I share. :) We celebrated Easter with my folks - always a nice excuse to get together. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteRunning has brought me the very best friends!
DeleteHaha, I have never heard of parents paying their kid to let them cut their hair. What ever works is my motto. Congrats on 3 years of running. I have been running a little over 5 years and it has greatly enhanced my life in so many ways.
ReplyDeleteI know...I think we somehow got scammed! Haha
DeleteHow funny, four different Jennifers you ran with. Your son really knows how to work it, paying him to get a haircut...haha.
ReplyDeleteI have a bad feeling we got scammed!
DeleteHappy 3 year running anniversary. You have accomplished lots in 3 years. My 3 year run anninversary will be in August but my longest distance s 10 km. I'm hoping for m first half this summer. Thanks for linking up t MotivateMe Monday!

ReplyDeleteYAY! See you Sunday! (and maybe Saturday!)
DeleteI have been running more or less since 1985! I love everything running has brought me - especially wonderful friends like you!
ReplyDeleteI simply adore you!
DeleteCongrats! I have been running 3 years too- it is a game changer! Funny how you had all the Jennifer's in your schedule this week! Nice Easter pics- and whatever you have to do to keep the kids looking good, it won't be the last bribe :)
ReplyDeleteLOL! No it won't!
DeleteI've had to take a break from running this weekend because I just recently had laser eye surgery...sigh!
ReplyDeleteLuckily since I'm a yoga teacher I can spend this time stretching and strengthening my body indoors :)
It looks beautiful where you are! Happy Runniversary!
I definitely need to be doing more yoga!
DeleteAh Smitha, isn't that very cool you started out with the C25k too! I have only about a year more than you do. You really hit the ground running too with 14 half's that is great! I'm with you running has changed my life and every aspect of it for the better, why can't more people get on board with it? I had a lady come up to me at church yesterday saying I want to run so bad but don't know how. I quickly shot back with why you put shoes on and go out the door. Why do we make it so hard? You are a wonderful inspiration to many of us! Keep it up lady!
ReplyDeleteIs that what you did too? Couch to 5K? LOVE that!
Delete3 years running, great job! it's all UPHILL from here ;)
ReplyDeleteLOL! Thanks!
DeleteYay! Congrats! I can't believe you've only been running for three years! You're a natural! Happy anniversary!
ReplyDeleteYou are sweet!
DeleteSounds like a good running week with the Jennifer's and what a wonderful Easter! I had to bribe my now 5yr old when I trimmed her hair. It was the day before preschool when she was 4. Her rupunzel hair was past her rear end and it had to be trimmed to keep her from sitting on her hair or having trouble during potty breaks. She saw me trim her sisters hair and felt like it wasn't do scary after that. I get about a good 4 inch trim. She did great but she fell apart that night. She has a princess loft bed and told me she couldn't sleep in her bed because she didn't feel like a princess anymore. She then lost it compleatly bc she thought all her hair would turn brown ( like rapunzels hair did in the movie tangled). Talk about mommy guilt! I will never cut her hair again unless she wants me too !
ReplyDeleteLol!
Anyways,Happy running anniversary! I think it's awesome how many half marathons you done is just 3 years!!! ( I've been running for almost 25 years and have only done 8!)You totally rock! Keep it up!!
I love your story! HAHA!
DeleteHappy Run-versary! Reading this I have no idea when I started running... You've accomplished so much in so few - so congrats! And your family easter pic is adorable :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great week-running with friends always makes for a good time! For me my runs and cycles were good last week, the swims could use some work though :)
ReplyDeleteHappy 3 year anniversary! So amazing how many races you've ran over the past 3 years. I need to check out Moms Run This Town group.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on 3 years. That's a lot of half marathons and marathons in that period of time. I just started my 9th year of running. I still feel new to it, in some ways. The friendships and connections are priceless! Here's to many more years of running and funning! Thanks for linking with us SD.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your runnivesary! Look at how far you have come in 3 years. That's fantastic. I too started with Couch to 5K and am a huge advocate!!
ReplyDeleteHaha that's a lot of Jennifer in your life. How funny. That lunch run spot from Wednesday looks like a neat place to run. Congrats on your three year runniversary! That's great!
