FridayFascinations - @RunRocknRoll San Diego #RemixSDChallenge Recap!

Finally!  A Recap!  Last weekend, I did the Rock n Roll San Diego Remix Challenge which meant on Saturday, I did the 5K and on Sunday, I did the Half Marathon.  I am always confused by these back to back races.  Do you race one?  Do you race both?  How do you pick?  Well for me it was easy-ish to make the choice.  I didn't race either and had fun with both!

First the Expo!  This one is huge!  All the fun brands like Pluggz and Pro Compression.  I could literally spend HOURS there but alas, I was on my lunch break!

Then, planning the outfit for the 5K.

That was easy too.  Spandits skirt, Headsweats visor and Pro Compression socks!

The 5K was a fun rolling hills course around Balboa Park.  We are so lucky to live in San Diego.  Beaches, mountains and awesome Balboa Park!

Pretty sweet medal!

Awesome friends!

Some more!

The Half marathon is another fun one.  But first, the outfit!

Spandits skirt, Headsweats visor and Pro Compression socks!  See a theme?

You have to get to the parking garage by 4:30 a.m. and have to be on the shuttle no later than 5:30 for a race that starts at 7!  So some of the morning pics are taken in the dark!

It gets light pretty early allowing for some awesome pre race group shots.

You get to see some of San Diego's more eclectic neighborhoods like Normal Heights, Hillcrest and East Village.  The best thing about this race?  The DOWNHILL finish!  You can FLY to the finish line!

Again, sweet medals!  And personalized bibs!

Not good beer but a beer and a GREAT friend!

I absolutely adore the spectator support on this course.  Seriously!  The best cheerleaders EVER!

Our MRTT Christine!

Or these guys!

Or this...person?  There are seriously so many awesome things about this race.  Like this Brooks guy!

But the biggest highlight for me was seeing my sweet friend Tara cross the finish line of her FIRST HALF marathon!  I was there and I am so proud!

Rock n Roll definitely knows how to throw an awesome party!  I don't plan on ever doing the Marathon but the Half course is super fun!  It is a good PR course too.  Lots of rolling hills which means lots of downhills.  And the weather stayed cloudy this year!  A relief!  I highly recommend heading out to San Diego and doing this one next year!  Right now, you can register for the Full for only $59 and the Half for $50!  STEAL!  Register here!

As I do most Fridays, I am linking up with  MarCourtney and Cynthia - AKA the DC Trifecta!

I am also linking up with Nicole for Fit & Fashionable Friday!

And Jill for Fitness Friday!

So, have you ever done a Rock n Roll Race?  Remember, you can sign up for any of the remaining 2015 races (except Vegas) for $15 off with code SDMOM.

As always, I wish you Happy Feet,
SD Mom
