Friday Fascinations: Pre Triple Crown Edition

On Sunday I am running America's Finest City Half Marathon in my quest to complete the Triple Crown series which includes Carlsbad and La Jolla Half Marathons.  So I am dedicating this list of 5 favorites to AFC and especially, the weather gods.

1.  My current favorite song.  Download it.  You will LOVE it!

2.  I was recently contacted by Kushyfoot and asked to review some of their products, including their yoga socks and their lace foot covers.  The difference between Kushyfoot and other products is that they have a padded massage area right at the pad of your foot beneath your toes so that as you walk, that part of your foot gets a little massage.  HEAVEN!  I am madly in love with the lace foot covers and I don't know how I lived my life before them.  Especially in the humidity we have had lately, they feel incredible in my shoes and keep my feet cool, dry and non-stinky!

They are not crazy pricey either.  3 pairs for around $11.  So worth it.  So if you live anywhere where there is tons of humidity, you need these socks for work or dressing up.  They even have a super low cut variety which I am going to have to get.

3.  This tank from Words from the Wise Running Apparel.  How perfect is this for my Marathon training?  2 years ago, I would have laughed in your face if you said I would do a Marathon in 2015.  Now, it is part of my reality when once I found it impossible.

Remember to use code SDMOM for 20% off if you want to get one too!

4.  This "True Runner" t-shirt from Running Skirts.  It has every distance on it including the 140.6 Ironman but let's not kid ourselves...that won't happen for me but it is fun to wear.  It is a burnout material and will match just about anything.

You can get one similar here.

5.  Finally, my new best friend in this humidity and heat - my Hydra Quiver from Orange Mud.  This was such a hard decision for me.  I didn't know what kind of hydration pack to get.  All I knew was I was sick of carrying water around my waist.  I also knew I didn't want a bladder backpack because I didn't want to clean it and I didn't want to run with the weight of 2 liters of water on my back.

Enter my friend Linzie from See Sharp Run.  He is an Orange Mud ambassador and he raves about his Hydra Quiver.  Let me see - 24 ounce bottle that is easily removable, dishwasher safe and easily refillable at any standard drinking fountain mid run.  Seemed like a no brainer to me!  There is no bounce, no chafing (except for under my right armpit?) and plenty of storage for my phone, Clif Shot Bloks etc.  I am kicking myself I didn't get the Double Barrel instead!

So there you have it.  My 5 things for the week.  What are you crushing on this week?  What is your current favorite song?  What do you use for hydration?  Do you wear foot covers?  Do your feet get sweaty?  And how much do you love my tank?

Reminder: Please join me and some of my awesome runner friends including StuftMama, Carlee McDot and DaSilentAssassin at the Bahia for a shakeout run before AFC on Saturday at 10:00 a.m.  It is sponsored by Pro Compression so you know what that means.  FREE SHWAG!

As always, I wish you Happy Feet
