Qualify for Boston TWICE and a GIVEAWAY for Big Cottonwood!

I am so excited to tell you that I have been chosen as a Revel Race Series Ambassador!  This means that I get to be a part of a race series that believes in FAST and BEAUTIFUL courses.  What is not to like?  Better still, each Revel race seeks to improve the community where the race is held by donating to a local environmental and health related non-profit groups.

For example, the crown jewel of the Revel Race series is Big Cottonwood, sponsored by none other than my VERY FAVORITE, Hoka One One, donates money to the Cottonwood Canyons Foundation and the Cottonwood Heights Foundation.

There are really nice perks to running these races including: cool tech shirts, finsiher’s medals, FREE race photos and personalized videos.

Personally, I am doing the Revel Race Series Canyon City in Azusa / Los Angeles County on November 15th!  Want to know why?  As they say, a picture is worth a 1000 words!

And the scenery is going to be gorgeous!

There is also the race in the Rockies.  Revel Rockies is on August 17 and is also a fast downhill course.

All of this will be a nice change of scene from the ocean.  (I know I know!)

But let's go back to Big Cottonwood for a second.  This one happens in Salt Lake on September 13.  September 13 is a very important date in the running world.  This is the date when the qualifying window for Boston 2016 opens (not something I need to worry about but YOU might!)!

From the Revel Race Blog: The Boston Marathon has announced that registration for the 2015 Boston Marathon will begin on September 8, 2014, which is just five days before the race. Historically, this has provided plenty of time for our runners to register and get into Boston for the upcoming year. Additionally, the qualifying window for the 2016 Boston Marathon begins on September 13, 2014, which is our race date. This means that your BQ time at Big Cottonwood can get you qualified for two consecutive Boston Marathons - something you're very unlikely to get anywhere else.

So in honor of my brand new Ambassadorship, I am giving away an entry into Big Cottonwood (Half or Full) so perhaps you too can BQ Twice or just run a beautiful downhill course!

All you have to do is comment below with whether you will be running Big Cottonwood for fun or for Boston? Have you ever run a downhill race? What do you think of the other two races - Canyon City and Rockies?

  3. I would run for time! I already have a 2015 BQ from 2013 NYC / 2014 Houston. I probably will not run Boston again for a while. However, I would LOVE to run a course with this profile. I LOVE downhill races and my PR is in Steamtown which is net downhill and 1st half down a mountain. I would love to try to break 3:30 in my 40s. That would be my goal. Plus my in laws live in LA so I would have support :)
